Ongoing Challenges to Education Funding

Please join Grassroots St Vrain on Monday, May 9 for an evening presentation and update on education funding in Colorado.

John Creighton, SVVSD School Board President, will discuss the fiscal challenges facing Colorado today and in future years.

Why are we seeing consecutive years of significant cuts to education?  Will we recover?  Can we recover?  What do these ongoing cuts mean to St. Vrain?

This is a great opportunity for incoming PTO Boards, School Advisory Board members, local business owners, community groups, and our friends & neighbors to learn more about Colorado’s fiscal structure, how education funding is impacted and how education funding cuts affect our community.

Grassroots St Vrain is forming several teams to take on these issues at the state, district and local school levels.  Each of us possesses unique skills and interests crucial to a successful Grassroots effort. We have prepared this informational briefing for you on the impacts of these issues and how you can contribute or simply become informed. Please respond to grassroots@gostvrain.org and we will provide you with the details of the meeting scheduled for May 9th.

Please join us – and share this invitation with people you know who care about education in Colorado and specifically the St Vrain Valley School District.
