Are you interested in how our large school district works and how decisions are made? Would you like to meet and exchange opinions with SVVSD officials and other parents across the district? Then let us introduce you to Leadership St. Vrain, an educational forum that brings together parents, community stakeholders, staff and school board members to learn and have discussions about education today. LSV meets one morning each month and is a wonderful way to get more involved in your school district.
We at Grassroots have had the honor of participating for the last few school years, and this year was quite informative. We had the chance to speak with Angelika Schroeder, our State Board of Education representative, as well as hear updates from the Longmont Chief of Public Safety, the Colorado Chief State Economist, a Public Deliberation specialist, and in depth reports on our district’s G/T programs, curriculum, technology, athletics, budget and finance, and district updates from the Superintendent. If you are curious about how our district works, and the educational environment today, we recommend this course highly for any parent. The more we know about our district, the more we can do for our children and community.
