Encourage the BOE
to place a MLO on
the November ballot
As we prepare our students for another step on their education ladder, our Board of Education is discussing how to sustain excellence in the education these students receive.
On Wednesday, August 8, the SVVSD BOE will decide whether or not to place a mill levy override on the local ballot in November. Why? Because when it comes to funding our schools we are falling short. SVVSD has lost $20 million in state funding over the last three years and current per pupil funding levels are below the amount available four years ago. A local mill levy override will replace lost state revenue, allowing us to retain quality teachers and offer quality education in our classrooms.
The BOE’s decision is an important step towards addressing the education funding shortfall. Please encourage our BOE to put the MLO question on the November ballot – to empower our community to decide about the future of our schools. Click through the button on the right to add your name to the growing list of community members that understand that progress is a choice. Together, we know public engagement can have an incredible impact on the success of our schools.
