With the November election behind us, people, organizations and school boards all across Colorado are joining their voices together to stress that our state leaders need to protect the investments many districts have made in local education.
The last time St. Vrain passed a 3A ballot initiative in 2008, our legislators moved forward with statewide education cuts that impacted St. Vrain by $20M within three years, neutralizing much of the additional funding we voted for. GSV is interested in preventing a state ‘take away’ again.
The “2013: Year of the Student“ project is joining together the voices of thousands of Coloradans and hundreds of organizations to demonstrate that education is a priority. The project asks that our legislators make fixing the school finance system (and subsequent funding problems) a priority in the 2013 legislative session.
Please consider adding your name to the growing list of people showing support for public education and encouraging our state legislators to develop a strong and sustainable public education finance system in Colorado.
