Election Day 2013 brings two new members to the SVVSD Board of Education, in addition to two returning members who were up for re-election. All four candidates ran unopposed and the school board opted to cancel the election and save $65,000. The other three members of the Board of Education will be completing their second terms over the next two years.
Board of Education members are elected to four-year positions, with the ability to run for second terms. At eight years, a member reaches term limits and must leave the board.
Dori Van Lone, (District D – Erie High School feeder area) and Rod Schmidt (District F – Skyline/Mead High School areas) retired their seats due to term limits this year. We thank them for their eight years of tireless dedication to our district.
