Celebrating Parent Leaders LSV 2014

Since 2009, Leadership St. Vrain (LSV) has “graduated” five classes of committed parents and community leaders that chose to be involved in LSV with the goal of making our School District a better place to live, work and learn. LSV was conceived and created for and by concerned members of our community with questions about the future of education in St. Vrain Valley School District (SVVSD) and Colorado as a whole.

LSV is a learning opportunity designed for parents who want to obtain a foundation in district operations and education governance and become more effective participants in school district affairs. LSV continues to grow with the support of the SVVSD leadership. LSV participants attend monthly three hour education sessions where they listen to an expert speak and then ask questions to further understanding.

SVVSD and Grassroots St. Vrain celebrate these graduates and their work in our community by organizing a social event annually in the Spring.  This event has become a forum for sharing accomplishments, highlighting benefits of the program, discussing improvements and answering questions about the potential for SVVSD.

This year’s social was attended by past and present LSV alumni and members of the SVVSD Board of Education, Superintendent Dr. Don Haddad and Executive Director of Organizational Development & Communications Dr. John Poynton.

Please consider participating in Leadership St. Vrain for the 2014-2015 school year.  Educated parents and community members are a valuable asset on many levels:

  • In our district; to build the educational programs we need support the future (our kids).
  • In our local businesses; to reinvest in where we live.
  • For the State of Colorado; to prove that quality education is a worthy investment.
  • For ourselves; to be a part of our school community

Joining LSV is an incredible opportunity to meet district leaders and ask questions. To learn more about the LSV 2014-15 Program, please contact:
