“Class Size Starts With You”

Understanding Class size at your child’s school

Last fall, GSV successfully created and produced a video addressing the complex structure of school finance in the State of Colorado. We used this video as a tool to educate the public and encourage dialogue about school funding.  As always, you generated the important questions that led to our further investigation.  We are focusing our next video on understanding school funding not only at the state and district level, but at the district and school level, too…..most importantly at your school, in SVVSD!

We are excited to share this next video that answers the question: How are class sizes determined in our school district?

The information in this video will:

  • Solidify your understanding about the decision making processes in your own school related to class sizes and personnel allocation
  • Explain how and who to ask about your concerns with regard to classroom make-up:  Why is my fifth grader’s class bigger than his brother’s 1st grade class?  What is an FTE?  And more!

Please take a moment to fill out this form and reserve a time to share this video at one of your FALL 2014 parent meetings.
